Hi, my husband has just been diagnosed with a non aggressive sarcoma in the muscle in the top of his leg surgery booked for 19 Nov to remove sarcoma and muscle with radiotherapy to follow, can anyone give me some idea of what to expect as unfortunately he doesn't want to talk about it.
It gets worse, they have also found as an incidental finding another sarcoma in his stomach 12x20cms sitting on his pancreas. We have been told that this sarcoma cannot be treated until the leg is sorted and will have to take place in Plymouth, we live in Exeter and I can't drive, is there any help with transport we can access?
hi KazF323f94
Welcome to our community, I hope you find it both supportive and informative.
I am Steve one of the commuity champions and my exprience fo cancer is via my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma.
There is information on treatment for soft tissue sarcoma on the main site here that includes surgery and radiotherapy that might be helpful, you might also like to look at the information on the sarcoma uk website.
Around here the hospitals only arrange transport in cases of clinical need but there are a number of voluntary schemes that I have seen many use. Using our in your area tool I managed to find force a charity local to you that might know who to contact locally and also provide support to you both.
Do post on here whenever as people are allways listening but remember if it helps you are welcome to ring the helpline too.
<<hugs>>
Steve
