I was diagnosed with a soft tissue Sarcoma tumour, large, aggressive and in an awkward place in my pelvic region. After 24 twice a day strong radio therapy, it was ceased. I was due to have 40. It had grown 20%. An operation was scheduled for Jan but is no longer happening. I had my first chemo session on Wednesday, today an MRI scan. Waiting in terror for results.
Anyone out there with something remotely similar? Please
I live in Spain
Hi @poshpaws,
My wife's sarcoma is quite different as she has secondaries scattered through the lungs, so did not jump in straight away.
I hope the MRI went ok - my wife hates them and fortunately does not have to go for one too often.
When you talk about waiting in terror though I think anyone on here can relate - we coined the term scanxiety though clearly as much as we might worry it will not change the result one bit.
We were rather lucky in the second type of chemotherapy Janice had managed to shrink her tumours a bit but even more importantly it seems to have stopped them growing - stable is our new gold standard and we have been there for about 6 years now.
<<hugs>>

Hi Steve, thank you so much for replying. Strange feeling, tears flowing just to have something in common with another.
I haven't got my results yet, it's not as fast as I would wish.
I have many fears having experienced a few horrors this year. I am thrilled to read that your wife is living with her situation. I believed I'd had my last Christmas and you have given me new hope.
Thank you
Hi @rachb27, if you click on my "name" in the title of the post it will take you to my profile that contains some of our story.
Getting to our current state did not happen over night and not without a lot of help. I did a living with less stress course with Maggie's that helped me to realise trying to guess what will happen in the future is not really helpful and was denying me the opportunity to appreciate what I have right now. We can really relate to the stories of people coming out of intensive care after covid and thinking every day is a new blessing.
It really helps of course that my wife's cancer has been stable for some time - then even our oncologist seems extremely pleased that Janice is doing so well.
Possibly the worst moment we ever had though was when we went to visit our Maggie's centre with our son and as we arrived he asked "have we come to leave mummy at the hospital" - that was a heart breaker.
The people around us are our real inspiration though, we could not have done this alone. Together though as the Hollies would say
Hi @poshpaws.
So sorry to hear what you have been going through & sending hugs. I was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma last Sept & started Radiotherapy this week for 6 weeks. I too had a tumour in an awkward place in my right groin. Hope that you’re results are ok. I don’t always come onto this forum a lot but everyone is so helpful.
xx
Jakes Mum
Hi Jakes Mum,
I received my results yesterday, 5% reduction! And it hasn't spread! And, my oncologist is back in talks with the surgeon. I had good blood diagnosis, then straight in for chemo after my consultation. My next MRI in 3 weeks, maybe 3 or 4 chemo sessions. At the moment, today a little hyper. I'm sure that'll change by Valentines
Thank you so much for replying. I needed to find a site like this.
