Hi
I’m a 45 year old woman who has just been diagnosed with a GIST in my stomach. It has come as a huge shock. I have surgery booked for 12th August which I am understandably anxious about however I felt that the surgeon was optimistic about his ability to remove it.
I was wondering if anyone else has had a GIST removed and how successful this was in the longer term. Mine is currently 3.5cm.
Thanks
hi and welcome to the community. I noted you did not get a reply and perhaps that is not so unusual as sarcomas as somewhat rare cancers. If you use the search box at the top of the page and search for GIST you will see a few forum members who have a similar diagnosis but there has not been all the much discussion. There might be more information available too from sarcoma uk.
Hope the operation goes well.
<<hugs>>
Steve
