Hi im 22 recently diagnosed and starting chemo tomorrow i feel like this is the end like i have lost my life to this . Im unsure of how to stay strong or how to deal with chemo. It feels like a bad dream i cant wake up from . If anyone has had a similar cancer and could give insight on how they coped it would be great. Overall im just really scared .

    • Hi Mammyrocket, just to say I hope your chemotherapy goes well. My daughter completed her radiotherapy yesterday and it was a tough few weeks but over with for now - she’s in the same position as you rhabdomyosarcoma that is incurable - horrible  little cancer that it is ! Despite it all she is still going strong and hopefully will be able to notice an improvement in symptoms over the next few weeks. Best wishes and stay strong xx

    Hi Mammyrocket

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis I know from experience how terrible a rhabdomyosarcoma can be and wish you the best. I lost movement in my arm and part of my hand  from the sarcoma so I understand that you not being able to walk will be upsetting. After my treatment I have had physio which has improved my hand massively hopefully you'll see the same improvement with your legs after chemo.  I know the first chemo can be terrifying it was for me to but allot of the pain went away once the chemo started to work so that was great I hope your works quickly aswell.Just try to take it one day at a time and know that it does get better it is a horrible thing to have to deal with but we can get through it and beat cancer .

Hello thank you for your reply, I am just about to go for my 2nd rour fof chemo tomorrow and I am pleased to report that the first round has virtually eradicated the pain, I'm still unable to walk unaided but the difference is amazing. I am feeling much more confident that I can beat this, thank you for your support
