Hi all,
I have a BCC on my scalp, ~2cm long right on the top of my head.
I’ve finally got through the 12 month waitlist in my area and have a date for excision surgery with either a skin graft or secondary intent (leaving it open, no stitches). Unfortunately at the same time my grandmother has died and the funeral is booked for the day after my procedure.
My local hospital’s information about BCC removal and wound care feels really lacking, particularly because it only talks about stitches being removed and there’s a good chance I won’t have them.
Can anyone give me some insight into how I’m going to feel the day after BCC removal? Size of bandage? Pain levels? Bleeding? Swelling?
For those who also had their wounds left open or had a skin graft, what was the recovery process like overall? I feel super in the dark and it’s not great for my anxiety levels.
Thanks all
