Hello first time posting. I had a bcc removed from my nose last Friday with a skin graft taken from my neck. I have my 7 day follow up appt tmrw and wondered what will happen at that appt? Will they redress the area or remove dressing? Will they remove stitches if they are not dissolving? Just trying to prepare myself for tmrws appt x
Hi Gracie If it goes like mine did I think they will take dressing off and remove any stitches that aren't dissolving. I also had stitches in the skin graft area and these were taken out too I didnt have any new dressings put on, I then returned to see Consultant 5 weeks from this appointment for him to tell me the results etc and discharge me. Hope all goes well for you x
Thank you that’s really helpful I will see tmrw, quite anxious tbh x
How did it go Gracie. Is this first time the dressing has been removed?
I had my stitches out today at my GP surgery 7 days after flap repair of excision of BCC on side on nose. No dressing since day 5, just wash with water and smearing lightly with vaseline until fully healed. Then massage. No follow up appointment. I have a 6-8week wait to hear whether they got it all.
Hope all has gone well today.
Hello they removed my dressings and can’t stop crying tbh X
how are you after stitches removal? X my next appt will be to see if they got it all x
Ok thanks. Day 8 for me and feeling low. So difficult being patient. It's good you've got an appointment to get your results, how long have you to wait?
I'm feeling a bit on my own with no follow up.Got to keep reminding myself to take 1day at a time, it's only been a week.
Hope you are able to rest and take it slow. It is quite an ordeal we are going through, not easy.
Take care.
Not sure where my reply has gone? Are you able to private message on this forum do you know? X
Don’t have an appointment booked yet they will write to me apparently.
I’ve joined a forum on Facebook which is helpful but I keep comparing my wound to others which I know i shouldn’t but mine seems awful in comparison but
maybe that’s just because it’s happening to me!
agree one day at a time but it is so so hard x
keep strong and be kind to yourself x
