  • Following on from my previous post from yesterday (Saturday) Here is the next step in my cancer BCC operation. The surgery was a success and the cancer as well as margins was removed. After a short stay in hospital I went home feeling tired. 6 days later I was able to take the bandage off. The hospital helped here and the doctor looked at the results. All was well and I waited a short time to go and have the next operation. I was sedated for this and when I came around the skin graft had been put in place. Now I had a skin graft and a hughes flap where my eye lid was sewn shut. As of today it still is. I have my 3rd operation in a few weeks. There is more to follow soon. If you have any questions id love to answer them, feel free to reply. Ammon.
  • Sounds like you are making steady progress through all this.

Did you have a skin graft and a flap ?

  • Hi AlisonN. I hope your well.  Thank you for your reply. I did have both of those. The graft was taken from in front of my left ear with a few stitches and the Hughes flap is still on at the moment. It's not uncomfortable but my eyelid does ooze a bit. Ive had it seen and its normal and I clean it as best as I can 3 times a day. I go back in a few weeks for the final operation and then all being well I will recover fully. It's amazing what surgeons can do today. Any other questions dont hesitate to ask. Ammon
