Hi this is my first time on here!
I had developed a freckle which turned into a mole and got bigger over 6 weeks one evening it started to bleed. I booked a doctors appointment and they referred me for photographs.
it’s itchy ozzing, crusty, bleeds and is on my left shoulder so my bra strap keeps knocking it.
I received a letter today saying it’s a nodule with lacunae at the edges which indicates vascular origin and they want to remove it. I tried calling the hospital to discuss the results as I didn’t understand them & was told I had to speak to a consultant. I haven’t received an appointment date and it’s Friday afternoon and I’m really worried.
Has anyone else had this diagnosis or can help me understand it?
reading some of your posts you are all so amazing & brave.
Hi Nonnie Sorry to read your story and can understand your dilema. I am sorry I haven't heard of that diagnosis. I had a basal cell cancer with a nodule that I had removed with a skin flap. The nodule meant it has a small lump in the middle. Mine bled slightly and was crusty too. Have you tried googling it. Keep in touch we are all here for one another on this site and help each other along the way. Good Luck x
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I haven't had "a nodule with lacunae at the edges which indicates vascular origin" so can't help with what this diagnosis means. I've also done a search in the group and haven't found this mentioned before.
Did you manage to speak to your consultant on Friday? If not, you could give the nurses on the Macmillan Support Line a call to discuss this with them. You can reach them on 0808 808 0000 and they're available every day of the week from 8am to 8pm.
They are also available in the ask a nurse section of the online community but only between Monday to Friday.
Do come back and let us know what this diagnosis means as it would be really useful if anyone comes here in the future with the same question.
x
