So I'm on my third week of using this cream and it's really scabbed over but sometimes it looks very wet. My skin cancer is on my chest so I'm struggling to not knock it constantly, especially when I'm trying to sleep and certain clothes keep sticking to it. I think it's all adding to the fact that I feel like crap, I'm always tired and just in general, feeling very sorry for myself. Knowing I have many more weeks of using this cream also isn't helping as sometimes it hurts when I first apply it. Oh the joys. So back to my original question, how does everyone else's look after the cream?
Hi there, I can totally understand how you're feeling using the Aldara cream .. I have got 3 BCC's on my scalp and have used the cream for 2 lots of 6 weeks..
Initially, I did feel under the weather and felt very tired but it got better. Washing my hair was a nightmare as the lesions got very scabby and sticky and they would often bleed overnight because of my head rubbing on the pillow
Try and stay positive as it sounds as though the Aldara cream is doing what it is supposed to do.
The best of luck with your treatment and hopefully you may get more replies from others who have experienced the same thing..take care and be kind to yourself..

Hi, I’m on week 5 of using the cream on my arm. I initially had such a tiny spot that you could hardly see, it’s now about the size of a 10pence piece ( if not bigger) it’s red, raised, scabbed and itchy with slight pain at times but not intolerable. I am only now seeing it get a bit wet. I was told by my doc that the effects are usually the worst in week 3 and for me they were and they are still the same ( but not worse) in week 5 although I think it’s starting to look a little faded round the edges.
I don’t find the cream hurts when I put it on, but the skin on your chest is probably more sensitive than an arm. It might be worth going back to your doc if it’s making you so uncomfortable, they may be able to suggest something to help. On the plus side it does sound like it’s working
I also have felt tired and fed up with it all but once you get week 3 done it does feel like you’re counting down and getting it over with!
Thank you so much for your reply. I can only imagine the difficulty you are having. Mine is rubbing constantly and I'm also struggling to sleep due to where it is. Hard to stay positive when you feel quite poorly and down but like they say, things will get better and it's nice to speak to others who are going through similar things. Thanks again and good luck with the rest of your treatment.

Hi I am on my third week of using this cream on two sites, top of foot and right boob. I have felt tired, dizzy, and nauseous most of the time - bit better by Monday after having w/e off, but then bad again by Wed. The site on my boob became inflamed and infected, partly I think because it moves all the time and rubs on clothes. Can’t wear a bra as all mine cut right across it. Anyway now on antibiotics as well. Feeling fed up at the moment, does it get better? How long till it all heals? Any advice/support gratefully received.
Getting there! 2 treatments left! and it’s not that much worse than week 3, good luck to you too thinking about you x
Also I’ve been given an antibiotic cream to use twice a day after I’ve finished the treatment. I will let you know how the healing process goes over the next couple of weeks x
Hi, I’m using this on my arm and reading both your posts it seems to be worse in the chest area. I can only say I’m at the end of treatment now, it’s not looking better yet but I’m hoping the next couple of weeks using antibiotic cream to heal the area will make a difference, I will let you know how it goes, take care x
I haven’t been given any antibiotic cream to use afterwards. Did your dermatologist give you this or your gp?
I must say the lesion on my foot has given me zero problems. The one on my boob is far more problematic.
Thank you for your support. Just finishing week 3 so half way there!
Hi Pontymel, yes I was prescribed the antibiotic cream (Fucidin) by my dermatologist to use twice daily for 2 weeks after I finish the Aldara to help with healing. I finish the Aldara tonight ( thankfully!) it must be awful on your boob I do feel for you, I think I would definitely ask your dermatologist or gp if you should be prescribed anything? If it helps then you want it
I’ll let you know how it’s looking over the next couple of weeks. Yes you’re on countdown now! All the best to you I’ll be thinking of you x
Thank you. Felt a bit alone until I read this forum. Good to talk to others going through this.
