I had a mole that was itching so I scheduled a appointment with the dermatologist.
I've already had 3 or 4 WLE and several other suspicious ones biopsed for pre cancerous moles so biopsy is nothing new.
The dermatologist looked at it and said it looked non cancerous but irritated due to clothing rubbing it. We decided to remove it just so it would stop irritating me even though it looked fine.
Got the call a few hours ago, much to both of our surprise it was squamous cell. I was officially diagnosed at stage 0, thankfully caught while still at the very top skin layer.
Treatment plan is a cream and follow up at my regular skin exam in March.
I am so very thankful that I scheduled that check and opted for removal.
