I had CRS and HIPEC in Basingstoke 9 weeks ago. This last week or two I have had backache which is pretty much constant but worse when standing. Has anyone else had this? Did it go or do I need to speak to my gp about some physio maybe? Or am I expecting too much too soon? Any thoughts or personal experiences? TIA
Hi Ali08
I'm sorry to read that you have recently developed backache which must be very unpleasant. Have you spoken to your hospital team about this in case it is a known side effect and they can prescribe you something?
I'm not a member of this group but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be easier to spot by others who may have had a similar experience.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hello Alio8, I was interested in reading your post. I noticed you have had treatment at Basingstoke with CRS and HIPEC. How long did you have to wait please as my referral was sent 10th June by my surgeon. I had pendicetomy 8,th May and told I had a 7.5cm cancer of appendix. This is my second cancer having had thyroid cancer 2020.
Hello AlioS would appreciate hearing your experience of Basingstoke please as I am awaiting referral.
Hi Naughty Lass. I was referred to Basingstoke in Sept 22 and didn't get my surgery until Feb 23 but there was a lot of coming and going by my consultant and them. Hope this helps
How are you now, and did you got to Basingstoke after first surgery?. How long did you stay in Basingstoke for please.
