I’m not newly diagnosed I was diagnosed August 2022 I was at Bournemouth Hospital and I got told by my oncologist assistant I had this and told I was stage 4 much shock to me I was told I was being seen by Consultant in Candover suite Basingstoke I was under a wonderful Cosultant . I really didn’t know what to think I had CT scans and I was being treated here at Basingstoke. I have to say I am rather disappointed with my treatment from Bournemouth I have very little support from my team there and my G P surgery offer very little or no support whatsoever I feel like I’m going through this alone with a very good friend when I probably should have been given some help or support.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that you're feeling unsupported by your hospital team and GP but hopefully you'll find the online community both an informative and supportive place to be.

Have you been allocated a CNS (cancer nurse specialist), sometimes referred to as a keyworker at the hospital you're being treated at, as they are normally the person you can contact for support or to ask questions, etc of? If you haven't been given their contact details you could phone your consultant's secretary and she should be able to provide you with their details.

I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet so responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where hopefully it'll be easier to spot by other members of the group.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment to into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
