Just been diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer after an MRI Scan. Very worried.

Kind regards James.

  • Hi James

Well the good news is it's being done and if there are any issues, problems or worries the hospital will look after you. Where I live in North Manchester each hospital specialises in different specialities and thus the staff are well versed in what they do - I suspect that's the case where you live.

I never Google illness or hospital procedures as I am led to believe they all show the highs and lows and reality is somewhat in the middle. When I was due my TURP operation, the only opinions I had were from people on here.

As we say up north "theel be rete".

Progress is being made - don't pre-judge what "might" happen. These people are professionals.

    Kind Regards

    Brian.

  • Thanks Brian. I live in North Manchester also. Penine Acute Trust. I had my Colonoscopy done at Rochdale Infirmary. I was in on Pioneer Ward the best ward I have ever experienced in my 69 years.

    Kind regards James.

  • Hell's bells - That's a coincidence!!!  Well I will come clean - I live in Royton - part of Oldham. original treatment at the Royal Oldham and as they don't specialise in Urology - under Urology at North Manchester General and Finally Radiotherapy at The Christy in Oldham.

Never mind me giving you a ring  - you can come round and buy me a pint!! We can put the world to rights!!

(Colonoscopy done at Oldham - ward G1 - they were good too!! - Unless you know your history people won't know why it's called the Pioneer Ward at Rochdale!)

That's amazing - i can't believe you are just round the corner!! If you click on the icon of the beach you can read my entire PC journey.

    Best wishes

    Brian.

  • Wow, go for it you two. It is so nice to meet in person as I have found out by meeting WW. Hope he takes you up on your offer and you enjoy a pint of real ale together.

    Gina

  • Hey Gina - Sounds like a plan - we won't be having donuts Doughnut and ice creamIce cream!!

We do have a very decent (in my humble opinion) real ale brewery in North Manchester - J W Lees. I can confirm that my weight gain is purely down to the manopause and J W Lees' s finest bitter has nothing to do with it!! Stuck out tongue winking eye. As I have clearly said in other posts "I am a man of moderation".

You and WW don't half make me laugh!! Joy

  • Glad we make you laugh. My favourites are Theakstons Old Peculiar and Broadside. I'd buy you a pint if you were closer!! Laughing

I think both you and WW have a very sensible head on but know sometimes you need time to relax and have fun - and you two are brilliant at it. Thumbsup

As for beer Old Peculiar is a tad strong for "session drinking". I do like Hobgoblin and sad to say for a Northerner I like Fullers London Pride.

If you ever have reason to be in these parts - you know where I live - see post a few above - I will take you up on your offer.Beers

  • Sorry all but I don't drink and I rarely go out apart from shopping and hospital visits I get very anxious when I am away from home especially in unknown places. I am a bore.

    Kind regards James.
