Just been diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer after an MRI Scan. Very worried.
Kind regards James.
Hi James
My husband was recently diagnosed as well. It is all very overwhelming but hang in there and all the lovely men and women on here will help and support you in many ways. You are not alone and yes it is worrying but once you let everyone know your further details you will receive lots of help to understand the ways forward and get lots of good advice and support. Have you had, MRI, biopsy, scans etc? I am sure you will make many friends here, I know I have been grateful for the help and advice I’ve received.

Hi Bill2021 and Linda. I am going to see the Surgeon tomorrow so will not know what I have to do until then. The Tumour is 1 cm which seems huge but it has not spread to Lymph Nodes yet. The tests just seem a bit invasive and the treatment will have side effects I have no doubt. I have OCD so this terrifies me. Fortunately my Funeral is aready fully planned and paid for.
Kind regards James.
Hi James
They will probably do a biopsy, to establish exactly the nature of the PC ,
stay positive, not easy, I am not the most positive person in the world, and live alone but with excellent family support. Hang on in there - and remember that many many PCs are curable.
regards Norman
Hi Ret
If u have any figures that would help.
PSA, Gleeson.
In. Terms of sizing mine started off at 3mm and grew to 1.3 cm over 3years so yours obviously not as big
U should be ok when a treatment.plan is offered , your main issue is whether to go for surgery or RT, do much research and you'll always get good advice on here.
Best wishes
Steve
Hi James,
Welcome to the club you didn't want to join. I agree with Grundo (Steve) above, let use have your numbers once you have a full diagnosis and we will be able to help as much as possible.
I understand a cancer diagnosis can be worrying but stick with it. Prostate Cancer is usually slow growing and treatable - at least you are on the treatment journey.
As a community we are here for you, feel free to ask questions or just come back for a chat you are most welcome.
Kind Regards.
Brian.

Loving your dark sense of humour (I hope ) . On the basis of what you’ve said , it’s very unlikely you’ll need to be using your funeral for anything related to prostate cancer
Hello James
i am sure you will not having to be worrying about or using your prepaid funeral plan for a very long time. Take a breathe and give yourself credit for reaching out for more information and support. OCD is nerve wracking for you and now this, but you will get through it. The guys on here are so supportive and extremely brave in my opinion. It’s not easy to leave your dignity at the door but all the guys in here are in the same boat and are very knowledgeable. What was your PSA, my husband’s was 227. Have you had a biopsy or bone scan. Yes the testing and prodding around can feel invasive but once the tests are all done you will have choices re treatment and what is best for you. There are more than one options these days. It’s very distressing i know so I’m glad you’re here in this group where everyone cares and helps each other.
