Just been diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer after an MRI Scan. Very worried.

Kind regards James.

  • Hi retro

I was diagnosed last month and waiting for an op , stay positive , I’m expecting to get op recover and back to norm and you will too Thumbsup

  • I don't know how they decide how many to take, but I think your 19 and my hubby's 24 is normal.

I hope you're not waiting too long for your op and that you recover as well as my hubby. Your positive attitude to this will stand you in good stead.

  • Going for all the tests I was a wee bit nervy , but been told it’s curable just get my prostate removed and I will be fine , 6 weeks recovery I was told , 6 weeks off work that is a kinda brucey bonus in the bad news , I don’t feel any different and try not to worry about it

  • Even your positive attitude towards taking time off from work is great. We're both retired. I gave my hubby a break from gardening and I took back control of the kitchen but I now let him think he's back in charge.

  • how is your husband is he going to be ok Thumbsup

  • He is awaiting more tests consultant just informed us that he had a Gleason score of 9. Waiting for letters is not good for both of us. We thought we would get urgent appointments by now

  • If you click on my profile you can read about his journey.

He is doing very well. He can do most thing's as long as he wants to, but he has a sudden relapse of his incontinence when he doesn't want to do something. After nearly 50 years of marriage I can see right through him though.

  • Hello Blue67 - Welcome to the "club" i don't think we have spoken before!

A Cancer diagnosis is always a worry and waiting on letters and appointments can put your anxiety levels through the roof. Just a couple of points to ponder:

    * I am in the "Gleason 9" club and to be honest I am 21 months down my journey from diagnosis and i feel amazing. You can read my cancer journey by clicking on the icon of the beach if that helps.

    * Can you clarify what tests and appointments you are anticipating. Have you tried telling your hospital you are available to take any short notice cancellations.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Ha - I am OK then at present - 44 years and I can still get away with some things by playing the "Big C" card. (I do actually have one!)
