Just been diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer after an MRI Scan. Very worried.
Kind regards James.
Thanks Brian,
I usually wake up at 700am bursting to pee and have to rush beforeI loose control. I am passing water more frequently during the day. Some days or nights are better than others. i have spoken to my GP and he does think they are normal for my age.
Still worried why it is taking so long.
Kind regards James.
Hello James
I have a group of friends all around my age and we go to the pub on Wednesday night and Sunday afternoon. 35 years ago we were a big group and now for various reasons we are down to 4/5.
We talk about "men" things football, beer, football, food, football, holidays and the frequency we go to the toilet. I am the only one with cancer but the lads all have their own issues. None - yes None of us sleep through the night - I am up 2/3 times in the night as most of my mates are - it's cancer/old age with me - it's just old age with them!!
Your G P is spot on - you are normal for your age - don't take this the wrong way - but as you tend to keep to yourself and don't socialise any changes to your body and routine will appear to be "an issue" where as we are all going through these problems.
Take it from me James - you are a normal human being - and yes the results are taking their time but the clock is ticking down now and they will soon be here.
Best wishes - Brian.

Thank you Brian. It would seem that you all were right and I was worrying too much. I have just received a letter from Urology to say there is no evidence of Cancer in the samples taken for the Biopsy. The letter is from a Macmillan Uro-Oncology Nurse Specialist. I have a follow up appointment in Three months time and a Psa Test 2 weeks before that. I hope this is normal !!
I would like to thank everyone here who has contributed to this Topic and given me so much help and encouragement in what was an impossible time for me. I will still worry about things but hopefully I can have a better Christmas than last year when I was told I had Bowel Cancer. I can hardly believe it myself.
Thank you all so much I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Kind regards James.
Hello James,
I am so pleased for you and I am glad you can relax a bit. I commend you for coping so well considering your anxiety and other health issues. It’s always nice to hear such positive news, looks like you will be going on to active surveillance so you can be monitored, which is fantastic as if anything were to change you would be flagged up very quickly. Good luck James and I hope you thoroughly enjoy your Christmas this year.
Best wishes and take care,
Linda
Hello James.
What wonderful news. Now that you are in the system you have the reassurance that you are being monitored. I wish you all the best and hope that you have a better Christmas and can look forward to the next year with optimism.
Hello James
Well - time to celebrate I think!! You have been amazing going through all the stress of not knowing and now you have an answer you can unwind , relax and to be honest carry on being a happy, healthy Goth!
As my good friend LinP said above it's "Active Surveillance" where the hospital keep an eye on you and that's just normal.
You can now move on and have a great Christmas and start to plan for 2024. Don't forget all your friends will still be here and feel free to pop in to let us know how you are keeping and even if it's just for a chat.
It's our Community and you are still part of it - even cancer free!!
Best wishes as ever - Brian.

Fantastic news James. As others have said, you are now on the radar and can hopefully relax over the festive period.

Hi James,
That's great news, really pleased for you. Well done getting to this point.
On the needing to pee thing, I had my latest active surveillance check up myself yesterday (also good news, in that no sign the cancer is growing) and mentioned my own worsening issues in the waterworks area. The doctor reassured me that it was totally normal for my age.
Do remind us when your next checkup is looming, the anxiety of waiting for results is something everybody here empathises with and can support you through.
Best wishes,
Sean.
Thank you all for your kind words and wishes. I could not have got through this without you all. I feel a bit of a fool for worrying so much and then not having Cancer. I hope to see my GP next week and discuss this report with him.
Kind regards James.
Hi all,
Just got a letter this morning which has me confused. It is from the Consultant Urologist.
It reads
I have the histology report which shows there is no cancer in his biopsies so we are stepping him down from the pathway and I am copying this letter to him so that he is aware that there is not a lot to worry about.
We will be seeing him with a further PSA hopefully in the next few weeks and will take matters further at that point.
Not a lot to worry about means to me that there is still something to worry about. The last letter said I would be next seen in 3 months with a PSA test 2 weeks before that time.
What does take matters further mean and why does it contradict the last letter?
Letters all seem to arrive on Saturday morning when you have no one to contact.
Sorry to bother you all again.
Kind regards James.
