Thanks for letting me be part of this group! I've been working as a psychologist supporting cancer patients for decades and now it's me who has metastasized prostate cancer... With hormone therapy and radiotherapy my PSA decreased from over 100 to 0.08 now and the bone metastases are not detectable with PET scan any more. So I have quite a satisfactory quality of life at the moment and would be interested in helpful group discussions here. Have a pleasant weekend everyone!
Gina,
I made it!!! just....
On Sunday, had to drink my first concoction at 17:00 (allegedly takes 2 hours to work). 19:30 still nothing. 20:00 had to drink my second concoction.
The hours ticked by, not a rumble... Then at 23:38 I had to run to the loo, you've never seen or smelled anything like it.
I'm normally asleep by 9pm, no chance here (of any sleep!!!).
Anyway to cut a long story shortish, around 2:45am I thought it safe to go to bed... Good job I still had some pads left... I padded myself up and went to bed.
I luckily got about 3 hours sleep. All together I had 16 visits to the loo by the time I went through for my starring role.
I did apologize in advance to the doctor for what might happen!!!
I can laugh about it now, but then... On top of that I have gone totally deaf. If it doesn't rain... Hopefully temporarily, think it is just wax, have to wait 2 weeks to get them done.
When the camera was doing it's journey I saw something (lying on my left side, saw everything on the big screen), I said "What the***" It was the size of a marble. Doctor said it was a Polyp (I thought T.u.m.o.u r), he lassoed it with his thingy. Ooh'Err!!
Anyway, he only found the one and hopefully it's all out, etc...
Well you did ask ...
Hope you and Richard are both well.

Hi Steve,
Oh you poor bugger what a trauma. I did have to laugh though, even though it was not at all funny.
Richard had two large polyps that they couldn't remove during the procedure which ended up with his partial bowel resection. You are lucky they managed to remove it. They will obvs do a biopsy, but I am sure it will be okay, and at least the bloody thing is out. Very clever doc to lassoe it with his thingy though, he must be very supple!!!
At least tomorrow you can stuff your face with whatever you fancy and not have to starve yourself. Richard has problems with deafness too but I don't think it is wax. It actually seems more drug or illness related as comes on more suddenly. At least you have a reason for ignoring Tracy if she asks you to do something you don't want to do.
Have fun and relax now.
Gina
Gina,it probably was very small but on the screen it was the size of a marble (a big one).
I didn't think he could do that with his thingy, bet his wife is happy (I didn't type that did I?).
Anyway it's all dirty water under the bridge now.
