Hi all, my dad was diagnosed with grade 4 PC last Wednesday morning and immediately started his hormone therapy treat Kent same day. He's not the most open chap he's 76 and went through all the tests, scans and biopsies without telling anyone except my mom, who is not in the best health. My sister and me are distraught, annoyed and clueless over it all. Apparently he has 6 months hormone treatment then a month of radiotherapy. The only information we can get from him is that the surgeon did not recommend surgery as the Cancer is at the rim ?
Sorry for the lack of information, but it's taken us a week to get this much from him.
I have no idea what to expect, where to turn or who to ask.
Hi Titch
Sorry to hear about your dad, I assume that at this stage u don't have any more stats like PSA, Gleeson score etc.
If it's stage 4 then has spread outside the gland so surgery is out.
Hormone therapy followed by Radiotherapy is pretty standard.
If possible try and get some more info including the MRI report which can tell u a lot , also a bone scan if he has had one.
Also possibly try and attend the next appointment with your dad to ask more questions which I am sure you have
Best wishes
Steve
