Any experiences???
regards,
Dave.
Hi Caroline, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer Gleason 3+4 and elected for surgery after consulting the team it was explained that I could have follow up treatment if required. The alternative was radiotherapy and hormone therapy which takes a long time and you can't always have surgery afterwards. The op was the easy bit and 3weeks on I feel ok but still have catheter in for 3 more days. I have coped well with the regime of emptying and washing. It's such a personal choice not least for a relationship, my partner has been involved all along with my decision making because she is affected as much as me . Right now I feel I have made the right decision we will see a few months on . Good luck for the road ahead for both of you.
Thanks Dave,
Saw urologist yesterday and at their pluridiciplinary meeting they had discussed his case (among others) and the conclusion is to have surgery. So he is booked in for keyhole surgery for the end of july.
Take care
Caroline
I have prostate cancer gleason 10, it was aggressive and I had brcytherapy, my cancer has been in remission for the Sept 3 years. Just wondering is anyone on hormone injections just had my last one after 3 years, anyone out there been on them the same time if so how you feeling?
Hi Caroline. Last week Tuesday 2nd June, with my wife I had a meeting with my specialist nurse. She explained the three options available to me, hormone/radiotherapy, brachytherapy & surgery. Aftern hour and a half we decided to go down the surgery route. The main reason for me it appears to be the quickest! After getting home I had a call from appointments saying that I was booked in for ‘
e OP’ on Tuesday 22nd June (this year) the only ‘fly in the ointment’ was that 2 years ago I suffered a stroke. It would be up to the anaesthetist whether he/she would be willing to go ahead with th
OP!!! I feel I am so lucky to have a date so early and hope it’s a YES from the anaesthetist next Tuesday 15th June. We have everything crossed. Hope it’s a lucky Tuesday? Good luck both
Dave
Forgot to say my Gleason score was 7 (3&4)
