Prostate cancer

Hello Europie, I’m sorry to read your partner’s prostate cancer has become resistant to hormone therapy. Generally if Abiraterone doesn’t work Enzalutamide won’t either but might be worth a try. Is he due to have any scans to see what is going on? I don’t have any experience of immunological treatments, it is likely few on here have, but hopefully someone will come along. What is his current PSA?

Hello Ido and thank you so much for the information.  We were told that it was either Abiraterone or Enzalutamide and once the choice is made it is then not possible to have the alternative later.  My partner's latest symptom is bleeding from the bladder because the tumour is pressing upwards.  Initial preparation for radiotherapy is tomorrow and then 4 days of appointments for the actual treatment.  PSA is 37.  The consultant has been very good and is looking at any potential clinical trials.
