hi diagnosed with prostate cancer and had proctectomy and lymph nodes removed on dec16 still feeling sore 3mth after op
,had an infection 2 days after op and was back in hospital for 4 days then had urine infection , still dribbling here and feels tender in stomach ,how long does it take to get back to normal usually ,im 64 and was reasonably healthy before op
I had the da Vinci which involved 5 small incinsions to the sides of larger central incinsion. It was difficult at first moving about but I think things improved after a month or so. I was back at wotk after six weeks albeit on light duties. I also had a urine infection but that was cleared up with antibiotics.
I don't know what the recovery time should be for the procedures you've had but if you have any worries check with your MacMillan Nurse. In my experience they usually know what the answer is.
Good luck.
I had the da Vinci to but one of the small incisions became a bit bigger due to infection and started leaking after i was home,i now have a indentation there where the fluid was coming out ,but i am bothered with pain in groin {both sides) and have trouble walking for long periods , and when urinating i get slight pain as its ending, I would not be able to work , i had catheter in for 4 weeks .
