I wonder if anyone can help here. I have been on hormone therapy 9 months of 24. Have completed radiotherapy 9 weeks ago. I have just had an annual GP practice blood test yesterday. Today I have a text from the surgery to discuss.I was able to see the breakdown of results and my Red Blood cell count appears to have fallen off a cliff edge compared to previous years.I rang the oncologist nurse specialist as I have seen on line that hormone therapy can reduce red blood cells dramatically to seek advice. She told me it is nothing to to do with the prostate hormone therapy and speak to my GP rather than notify the oncologist? I can do this but from seeking assurance from a specialist I now have to deal with a general practitioner. Has anyone else had low red blood cell count due to hormone therapy/radiotherapy for me to example?
thanks
Hello Racketballplayer . I have had a look through my last 3 blood test results for you and I’m happy to post the results ‘out of range’ (or close to that) that are shown below as these are anonymous.
These are just one individual’s snapshots and may be due to HT, RT or another reason, but thought you might like to compare them… I’m certainly no expert but I believe some of the low counts result in my slightly lower energy levels than before treatment started.

Many thanks for your time in putting together your result comparison. I will lay mine out in a similar way when I see my GP. Mine have declined below range across all the test markers. My energy decline started a few months into Hormone Therapy. I am speaking to my GP towards the end of next week I will post what is suggested, Once again many thanks.
Many thanks for all the replies I feel a bit calmer now I have had a few days to settle.
Thanks for the time and effort you’ve all taken.
best wishes to all
