Just feeling fed up. It’s now been nearly 2 months since my last

treatment. And still feeling washed out and exhausted. Is this normal. Or should I have started to feel better. I’m now off the hormone blockers. But seen now suffering more with hot flushes

just wondering if anyone out there experiencing the same. Or can they see light at the end of the tunnel.

  • Hi Kit, am ahead of you, one year since end of radiotherapy  and hormones. Had hot flushes til 7 months after although reducing in strength. Yes tiredness but it reduces. Hold in and be patient!

  • My experience after coming off two years of hormone therapy is that the first few months were far worse than being on it. I felt depressed and listless and was (am still!) carrying a lot of extra weight, nine months after the treatment. Exercises/weight training are essential, which will help greatly.

  • Thank you. At the moment don’t seem even to have any energy!

  • Hi Kit

I'm 2 years and 3 months since diagnosis but mine was metastatic so it had already left my prostate and gone into my pelvic and thigh bones.

Am on 2 different hormone therapy tablets to help prolong my life and one of them, Apalutamide (4 tablets a day) made me constantly tired and fatigued. Consultant dropped me down to 3 and felt a lot better.

As for hot sweats, I've recently been prescribed a tablet called Cyproterone Acetate and not had a flush in 30 days.

I have had 2 separate blasts of radiotherapy to knock the increasing pain down which worked but not on long term radiotherapy.

    Chins up and keep fighting.

  • I’m also metastatic, diagnosed March this year. Finished RT 3 weeks ago , HT for life. A little tired around 6 ish and some hot sweats but nothing much. Just like you getting on with life as normal as that’s the best thing to do.

    Love your attitude Thumbsup

    Best wishes -Gra

  • Hi Kit,

I am about a month ahead of you RT wise (no ADT) and am more exhausted now than I have been at any point so far.

I have a cold which isn't helping but I was hoping that some energy would be returning by now.

  • Perfectly normal but can be very depressing. Stick it out, it will improve.

  • Thank you Jef. puts everything into perspective. All the best for future.
