Hello!. New to this forum. I'm 62 years old. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in late 2014, had my prostate removed January 2015. Gleason score of 6 (3+3). Margins were negative and it was not considered an aggressive form of cancer. I've had my PSA checked annually since then and for 10 years post-surgery my PSA had been <.01. During my annual physical in September of last year, PSA was .04. Just had another one done last week (6 months from the last one) and PSA is now .05. My Urologist feels like I'm disease free. He feels that since my PSA is <0.1 I shouldn't worry. However, it's unsettling that it is rising. Was wondering if anyone on this forum had a similar experience. I'm debating on getting a second opinion from another Urologist. Thanks!
Hi Erick and welcome
I think too early to think the worst
After all it is ,04 and not .4, a minimal amount. Also the last PSA only gone up .01
I would wait a bit longer hopefully the next one will be the same.
I often suggest to people to get a second opinion privately but on this occasion too early.
That's just my opinion and see what others say
All the best
Steve
