  • That sound like they are certainly looking after your dad xx

  • Thankyou for that and thankyou for your support ! Mums been and seen him said he’s really unwell but I’m hoping with everything there pumping inside him they can get him some strength to make decisions and realise he is in the best place

he’s just nervous and it really didn’t have to be like this because the spinal compression has been getting worse and worse each day obviously

mum said there giving him antibiotics and everything else through iv drip

  • Dads been moved now to a surgical unit , I rang up last night to see how he is doing but they said he had just got to the ward , rang up this morning and the consultant is with him so not to sure yet on what is happening, I do no that the cathator he had on has gone septic causing damage inside him that’s one thing I do no , and also he’s on his 4th blood transfusion, I’m hoping to speak to someone today about what is going on

    thankyou

yesterday was talks of moving him to another hospital for surgery

  • He’s on steroids now and radiotherapy is planned ….

  • Hello

It will take some time to build him back up. I assume the Radiotherapy will be targeted to a specific area where the pain is.

You've done your best for Dad and should be proud that you have managed to look after him and get him to where he is now. When you visit him you need to make sure he understands that the hospital team are doing their best to nurse him back to health and that he co-operates with them.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Bit if a strange day today to say the least , dad was started on steroids for the spine and everything  was going well until mid afternoon he was ringing my phone saying really bizzare things and texting me saying help me Chloe help me please , he was ringing my mums house phone about 40 times and ringing my mobile it was horrible , so I rang the ward and told them what he was doing , I think he had a reaction to the steroids he was refusing any staff to go near him and wouldn’t even have any fluids :( we still don’t no what happened, my mum and brother went in a taxi to the hospital and he seemed to of calmed down he was saying he could see dogs and men in jeans on a roof ?!?!?! So really out of sorts

since then he has completely calmed down and is settled doing a word search book , so I don’t no what has happened or still don’t no what’s happened really , I have never ever known my dad to do that ever ! He just lost it but then snapped out of it ..

what do you all think about this

he is being treated for a infection aswell but if he refuses medication it’s going mess eveything up he can’t afford to do this

    Chloe x

  • Sounds like your dad has an infection possibly a urine which can cause the above symptoms .that is only my opinion as I am not medically trained

    hope he’s better today

    Liz xx

  • Hello Chloe (

Steroids can have some "nasty" side effects whilst your body gets used to them so that can explain dad's reaction - an infection can also cause unpleasant side effcts.

I am sure the hospital staff who have seen it all before will get him sorted and on the pathway to recovery.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • He’s got worse in the night they want to take him for a head scan but he’s refusing point blank he is texting my partner who is in Scotland saying I’ve been shot and he needs help , it’s all happened since taking the steroid honestly he was perfectly fine before this , we have all had to block his number and unplug the phone wires he’s been awake for 24 hours now
