9 days into Abiraterone Krka x2 500 mg a day, together with Prednisolone 5 mg, in addition to my 6 month injection of Decapeptyl SR and today I feel crap. I slept until 10:15 this morning which greatly exceeds my usual 5:30 am awakening and I have felt "crap". A thick head, tired general aches and an upset stomach.
Any one with experience, is this a bug or is it as a result of the hormones?
Or it just one of those "down" days?
Hi KJ911 , it is quite hard to prove just what is causing some side effects. I have off days and blame the HT but perhaps I would have them anyway? If bad days start to become the ‘norm’ then chat to your team. Quite often adjustments can be made to improve the situation. Let’s hope it’s just a passing bug in this case.
Best wishes, David

Hi KJ911
Ive been on and off Abiraterone a couple of times as well as a 3 monthly Triptorelin injection.
I'm on 1000mg a day plus 10mg of Prednisolone
I have bad days and very bad days.
I cant remember having a 'good' day, constant aches and pains and just generally feel like crap most of the time.
It seems to be doing the job though as my PSA is below 0.03 at the last test.
I have a telephone consultation tomorrow with my Oncologist and they want to add Olaparib back into the mix. One of the side effects of that is fatigue - like I need more of that!
I think we just have to accept that this is the 'new normal'. We hope for a good day but it's unlikely to happen
Keep Fighting!
Hi KJ911,
As it's now later in the day hopefully you are now feeling less like crap & more like your normal self.
Whilst it is possibly a side effect of the medications you are currently on, I personally always feel like s*** when I sleep past my normal waking time. Not sure why that is but, as a morning person who's usually awake around 6 a.m. & full of beans, I try to ensure that I get up around the same time even if I only got to bed a few hours beforehand.
If the issue continues, it's best to let your team know so they can look at adjusting things if needed. Fingers crossed things will settle down in the meantime.
Best Wishes
Brian
The letter from my Oncology consultant stating that my PSA has dropped from 49 to 0.31 probably raised the spirits today. One of the very few ups on this up n down journey.
It certainly cheered up my wife. Having spoken to her about this, she stated that she felt down the whole day, we reflect each other. Today is a better day.
Thanks for taking the time to comment Brian Buzzers
That's great news about the drop in PSA - long may it continue dropping.
