It’s funny how things are coming back to me after the mad rush of events last year. I have just updated my Profile with the following note.
8/2/25 - Update. One thing i forgot to diary is that through the whole operation/catheter etc I experienced no pain. It’s something that didn’t occur to me until afterwards. OK it was uncomfortable, more aching than pain. I was dreading the drains and clips being removed but they were nothing. Ive felt worse hitting myself with a hammer or spending 3 hours at the tattooist. I think its fear of the unknown which is worse than the actual experience.
All the best to everyone on the forum

Hello Psticks
Thank you for the update .I had an indwelling catheter for 10 months and found it to be my best friend. Once I got used to it:
* I didn't have to get up in the night for a wee (big night bag).
* I didn't have to go to the toilet as often in the pub!
Prostate cancer eh? The gift that keeps on giving!!
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi Brian,
LOL! You got to laugh! I remember having the catheter in and me and Mrs Psticks were in bed asleep. Suddenly she shouted “your leaking, your leaking” I woke up with a start and asked what was up? She said I heard a gurgle, your leaking. Anyway we got up had a look round, nothing !?
Went back to sleep. A couple of nights later it happened again and I heard it. Threw the quilt back to try and find out what was going on. Couldn’t find anything and then realised It was a back up in the pipe suddenly draining over the side of the bed into the bag with a gurgle.
It definitely a bonus not having to get up in the night.
Cheers Phil
Hello Phil (Psticks )
Oh, that's brought back memories!! yes the gurgle when the night bag wasn't filling up - something to talk about!!
In 10 months I had 2 leaky bags. both started at the same place whilst walking the dogs about half a mile from home - end result wet socks and trainers - not pleasant at the time but looking back on it funny as hell!! .
Thanks for sticking around and all your help on the Community - it's much appreciated.
Best wishes - Brian.
