Good evening

I've recently finished my chemotherapy for my prostate cancer ( I'm on triplet therapy) I'm continuing to have injections and tablets ( degralix and daralutamide) but since finishing chemo I've started to get really bad leg pain, mainly first thing getting out of bed but also if I've been sat can anyone tell me if they have had a similar experience and what they did to help. It does feel as if it's getting worse and on a morning more so.

looking forward to hearing from anyone experiencing the same .

regards jamie

  • Hello Jamie.

Well, you have finally completed the chemotherapy which is a relief. There could be different reasons why you are experiencing leg pain so it is always best to get things checked out with the doctor. My husband developed lymphodoema in his leg following chemo which was characterised by some swelling, redness and pain so this could be one option. Another could be peripheral neuropathy which is more of a tingling and numbness. Sciatica can be very painful which tends to be a pain down the back of the legs. If it is more bone type pain then this may have something to do with your bloods. There are different solutions depending on what the cause is but the common thing is exercise initially.

I was going to suggest lymphoedema as I’ve developed that following surgery and RT. Although for me the pain started after I’d been walking for some distance. If it’s only one leg, try measuring them to see if they’re the same circumference, as a start.

    Good luck
