Hi All,
does anyone know if this is a standard procedure for all patients, I was under the impression it was and that I would have to inject these after surgery for the next month, I have just been informed that I won’t and I will only receive this when in hospital , I’m a bit concerned to be honest as blood clots consequence's can obviously be so severe ?
Thanks
Nick
Hi Nick
I didn't have to have blood thinning injections after my op. I was however told about the symptoms of blood clots and what to do if I experienced them. I think in many cases now they only give you the injections to take if you are in what they consider a higher risk category. I did have to wear the lovely stockings for a month though!
Hope all goes well for you
All the best
Dave
Hi Dave
thanks for the reply and well wishes mate it is much appreciated
funny as my clinical nurse came back to me today with exactly the same explanation as what you have put so feel more relaxed with it now
i have just read your Bio and pleased that your journey has gone well , I’m booked in on the 22nd so always good to see positive outcomes
thanks agin mate and all the very best
Nick
Hi Nick,
To be fair I thought it was standard to have them I've got a month's worth of them and I still have to wear those horrible stockings untill all injections have been given.
Thank you matey it does seem strange how treatment options differ
