Hello All

I just thought it might be a good idea to have a new thread as Christmas and New Year are catching us up very quickly.

I appreciate that as we get nearer the time people will be busy with family time etc so I thought we could use this thread to discuss Christmas and the New year. Your plans for the festive period and hopes and aspirations for 2024.

There is one thing we all have in common and bonds us together Prostate Cancer - either as the person diagnosed/wife/partner/carer or family member and for some of us 2023 has been a tough old time. It's been a very good year though on the forum I think - everyone has pulled together and been very thoughtful, welcoming to new Community members and amazing at providing help, information and support to each other.- that's what we do.

On a personal note I would like to thank everyone who has helped me during the year - especially since I have had the "Community Champions" hat on - it's very much appreciated and long may it continue, thank you again!!. There will of course be the usual support throughout the festive season from the Community.

So on that note stay safe and have the best Christmas possible and a great 2024.

Best wishes - Brian and Mrs Millibob (Lorraine).

  • A nice "Greek style" Bubble and Squeak washed down with a bottle or two of homemade Greek Wine!!

    Sounds like heaven!!

  • Steve. Definitely "English Style" bubble and squeak thanks to finding the SPROUTS. As for the local 'dopio' wine -yuk, like drain cleaner. Give me a nice Pinot grigio, although Greek wines have improved considerably in recent years, especially from Nemea. The mouse has been at the turkey now as there was less on it today than when I put it in the fridge yesterday and the leftover pigs in blankets had almost gone. Enjoy your day.

    • Stevecam, I nearly lost my wine laughing at your comment. Just had a lovely lamb dinner with a nice bottle of wine. I a happy girl
  • Well it's 31 December 2023- so much has gone on in this year - it's been amazing year for for me - there have been some sad moments but I have had the support to get over them.

The good bits - Only 12 more months on Hormone Therapy, I am to become a grandad again!, I feel in a good place mentally - I know I am on a "Curative Treatment Path", I have at least one holiday planned for 2024, My football team isn't in a relegation place, I became a "Community Champion" and finally I have made so many great friends on the Community - - The bad bits - aw never mind them!!

So to one and all - I hope 2024 brings you everything you wish for but more than ever have a healthy and happy one and don't forget there's always someone here on the Community for you.....

HAPPY NEW YEAR - TO ALL - BeersCocktailChampagne glass.

  • Brian & Lorraine,

Here's to a better 2024 than 2023.  I am glad to see the back of it.

Thanks for all your support this year!  Plenty of laughs.

To everyone, hope you all have a great New Year & hope everyone's PSA levels come right down.  Also a big thanks to all the wives and partners who have stood by us through thick and thin!

  • Happy new year to each and everyone of you. We have 5 cruises to look forward to and a land based 3 week holiday to Cyprus, so very excited. Can't wait to get rid of 2023 it has been the worst year of our lives., but it ends on a positive having made so many friends on here. Xx

  • 5 Cruises!!!  & 3 weeks in Cyprus!! Jealous, Moi!!  Well go on then.

You are competing with Brian Millibob with all these holidays.

If they all help to make up for a dreadful 2023, I hope you enjoy every moment!

By the way, who did you get travel insurance through?  I'm trying to sort out an annual policy but nobody is interested in insuring us.

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • Hi Steve, I could only find 2 companies that met our needs all clear and insure and go. We went with the 2nd one
