So my dad recovered from primary prostate and primary lung cancer in one year. I decided to raise money for charity during no nut November and my friend told me it was a joke and basically laughed at me. I need opinions here. Is NNN a joke or does it mean something? To me it does but apparently it's a joke to a lot of people. Clearly they haven't seen a loved one go through prostate cancer. Just curious what people think of this. My opinion is whether is started as a joke or not it's a great way to bring attention to men checking their testicle same as woman with the pink month for breast cancer.
Hi Lou1986
Thanks for the information - I must move in the wrong circles but I was told about it last year whilst having a pint with some mates in the pub!
It originated as an internet challenge where men had to do the 30 days without sex, masturbation or ejaculating. (Well pardon me for saying but that's me without trying - although the Hormone therapy helps ) So yes it started as a joke and I am aware there is plenty of shall we say "material" available on social media.
Whilst any idea of bringing attention to this awful cancer and ways of checking yourself are most welcome - my personal view is this isn't one of them!
It's great to know your dad has recovered from both Prostate and Lung cancer and long may he stay healthy - any ideas for raising money to fight these two cancers is brilliant. (Although under our Community Guidelines fund raising isn't allowed within the Community).
Best wishes - Brian.
