So my radiotherapy finished on Friday after 4 weeks all went smoothly and the staff at Peterborough hospital were fantastic,I only needed 6 months of hormone injections so happy about that
Hi Mace , congratulations on finishing. I found I was relieved but also had a strange void feeling that the routine and boredom had finished. Good luck on your continued recovery.
Best wishes, David

I went A&E last week with bloody diarrhoea and wipe and they took a sample in case it was infected (which it wasn’t) and put it down to a fissure or haemorrhoids. Having to go initially via ringing NHS 111 first gave me the authority to get it checked out immediately.
Good luck. It might be nothing, but it’s worrying you so take some 111 advice.
Are you prescribed Laxido. I’ve been havIng ti take 3 perday to shift my bowels from “closed for repair” to sludge. But if you haven’t you must ask for some. Chemo makes my constipation worse but on top of that my morphine doubles up the problem. It’s not easy to get a balance and I feel like my body is attacking me and taking the mick out of me.
you must soften those unholy stools to stop the piles being damaged (if you haven’t any) but, I’ve got the trots now but the pain is really bad with a moment, as bad as if the stools were hard.
its just a nightmare but you need the tools in your toolbox to get the right balance.
For me my diet isn’t a problem as much as the drugs I’m forced to take to make me “well”. Ha ha It’s some conundrum and a chemical conspiracy.
Good luck. Keep talking, we’ll get there in the end.
Mace , this is very normal and usually nothing, but please let your team know of this and any other side effects. I had blood several months after treatment and immediately thought the worst, but after tests it was found to be mainly radiation damage (proctitis). After 8 years I still get it (infrequently) and it’s always a shock!
Best wishes, David
