This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic.  It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.

It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.

I could have named it 'Waffle'.  Then I couldn't go off topic.

  • Thanks

  • Hi Steve, sorry to hear of your unhappiness. Neighbours can be a right pain!

re writing a diary - I’ve always done this at difficult times in my life. It’s as good as confiding in a good friend but not worrying that your confiding will be betrayed. It’s like putting your worries down onto paper somehow clears a bit of space in your brain so that you can carry on dealing with whatever is thrown at you next. I’ve still got such diaries dating back to my nurse training days in the seventies! Now I wonder why I was so worried about such trivial things but I know they really bothered me at the time!

the concern now, though, is what the heck to do with those diaries!!!!

  • WW, have you ever just sat down and read through some of your diaries, transporting yourself back in time??

I bet there are some juicy bits!  Most of which cannot be repeated!

Take Care, you and your OH.

  • Hello Steve, re ‘juicy bits’ - when I discovered an old diary I read of one such in particular! As a student nurse doing my operating theatre placement I walked into an equipment store and found a theatre sister and a consultant in a ‘compromising’ embrace! I had completely forgotten this. I posted this on the hospital Face book page for past student nurses and there was a clamour for names! I withheld them!

what my diary of those student days show was how incredibly hard we worked and played and how tired I used to get ! Wish I had that energy now!

just to note, a distant relation of my father died quite some years ago. When his son was clearing out his house, they came across his diaries and used them to write a book which, I am told, sold very well!

  • Great price for travel insurance. The cheapest we could get for annual European cover including cruises was £2,600. Can't find anyone to cover us for worldwide. Can I ask who you went with we are with All clear

  • Shar, it was on a search engine I got from the Martin Lewis TV show, called 'payingtoomuch.com'

Go onto his site and you can get the link.

  • WW, write to Channel4 and tell them you have a good idea for a reality series...

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • I’ve been checking  out all the sites the Maggie Centre gave us

They ranged from sorry can’t cover to £5400 and went onto

Holiday Safe  £660 for us both

Insurance With £540 I think for OH only

Paying too much  £960 for us both  for me only £277 as I also have medical issues

    Post Office wouldn’t cover

    It is  a minefield

    good luck

  • Liz  this year's for us is a company called "Insureme4"

Don't know who thinks up these names!!

I'm sure it was through the Martin Lewis TV show on payingtoomuch.com

Annual inc cruising apart from the USA

We've had loads of problems with trying to get a policy, the amount of pre existing conditions is crazy!!

So did you find a policy not massively expensive?!?

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • Hi

we are going with Holiday Safe

    holidaysafe.co.uk

we used them a few years ago and found them easy to arrange our insurance as I have a lot of medical issues too.  I just saw they offered a discount so added it and got it cheaper By adding this promotional code AWARD25

maybe worth a try in the future.
