This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic. It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.
It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.
I could have named it 'Waffle'. Then I couldn't go off topic.
Yes one of my cousin's grandchildren on my Dad's side (he came from 'Ackney, and Bethnell Green area) ended up living in the same street as my Mum had lived on in 'Ull when she went to University there.
We had a sort of twin set of shops one main entrance and then two doors one going to one side where the wife made and sold up market chocolate and ground her own coffee for sale and the other side was her husband's tobacconists - the smell was wonderful.
I can imagine that smell! Heaven!!!

Unfortunately no longer there now - in fact not many shops at all when I last went the only place I have had a similar experience is in Italy - chocolate and coffee shops and then the tobacconists - it would be so easy to start smoking again. My wife's cousin treated himself to a trip to Cuba for his 60th Birthday and brought back some lovely cuban cigars - I had to refuse. I wouldn't have been able to stop. I always say I am a smoker who doesn't smoke.
so miserable. I am losing my sense of smell slowly now too. I don't know if that is part of the ageing process or not but there are lots of smells I just can't smell. My wife bought a lovely old rose with my name and apparently it has a lovely perfume but I can't smell it. I shan't bother telling you what it was called as you wouldn't be able to smell it anyway
I've only ever bought one packet, 10 "Number 6", smoked 2, then gave the rest away.
There's a great café in Richmond, he does an amazing Coffee, the smell!!! You only pay for one cup, he keeps topping it up for free. His Bacon Sandwiches, proper non healthy fried in lard, how it used to be.
Ulls, "frying Bacon" is the best smell ever.

There are some smells I wish I couldn't smell. I go home smelling of it every day. Suppose that's what I get for working in an Abattoir.

I don't have that problem I've never smoked, the house was split when I was younger parents and 4 eldest sister's smoked me and the 3 younger sister's didn't
