This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic.  It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.

It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.

I could have named it 'Waffle'.  Then I couldn't go off topic.

  • Hi Steve, we had our jabs yesterday. Both of us awake in the early hours with sore arms! Husband has headache this morning but I’m ok!nyes, I’ve spoken to people who have said they’re fed up with jabs and are not bothering this winter. I’m not sure that this is a wise move on their part but it’s a personal decision. Lucky you not having experienced covid! I had it once and felt pretty rough!

  • Steve , you have a way with words . OH is asking what I’m chuckling about when I told him he also laughed . He also said it’s good to hear that we all still have a sense of humour xx

  • Janet,

I know what you mean about people not bothering this winter with the covid boosters.

At least I wasn't the only one with a sore arm.

When I was working, a woman, only in her 30's, from the company's HQ, had her first jab and she was paralysed from the waist down.  She was learning how to walk again, a total inspiration to me!

  • Two more with sore arms here Janet as we had our COVID jabs on Monday, headaches on Tuesday & Wednesday but OK now. Hubby feels like a pincushion as he had his Prostap injection this morning and he has his Xgeva injection tomorrow. Flu jabs next week and new respiratory virus injection the following week.

We were surprised at how few turned up for the COVID jabs as we can only get them in our area on a Monday, but apparently people here are also becoming complacent but not understanding that, like the flu jab, they are tailored to the new mutant variants.

Hubby is on a high because the Urologist today said he is doing better than just keeping the cancer under control and that they never expected him to be so well after 4+ years. Plenty of life in the old dog yet.

  • Hi Steve,

Like WW, I also have had Covid and it knocked me off my feet for two to three days. Luckily I got over it quite quickly, in fact better than my daughters. Having had it though, I would prefer to suffer for a day or so with a sore arm than get it again. I also wonder how bad it might have been if I had not had the jab at all.

I have had the flu jab since I was in my teens. I worked for the Daily Mail group and we used to get all the staff vaccinated way back then against the flu. As I was roped in to help, as was PA to the HR Director, I was offered one annually. Since then, I have only had the flu once that I can remember.

Shame it was just your arm Steve, and not morning glory Sweat smile

  • So happy about the news from the Urologist.  Pass my best wishes to your Hubby.

Totally understand your comment about people over there becoming complacent.  Seems to be the same all over now.

But at least you are both still vigilant, albeit with a sore arm.

    Have a great weekend.

  • At the Maggie's Prostate Cancer Support Group I go to, we all agreed that trying to keep your sense of humour really helped.

Enjoy your weekend, both of you.

  • Hmm... I think I can remember morning glory!

Glad you got over your Covid booster, l know what you mean, rather have a sore arm than Covid anyday!

You deserve a nice peaceful, relaxing weekend.

  • Really happy for this.

    Keep going. Sunglasses
