This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic.  It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.

It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.

I could have named it 'Waffle'.  Then I couldn't go off topic.

  • Hi Steve, I’m afraid that’s been done. I trained in Call the Midwife territory :( ( not the convent though but a large London teaching hospital!

  • So have a safe holiday with holiday safe!!!

  • Completely different topic. Anyone else out there with potentially a bit of chubbiness on their tummies, end up with a second belly button after surgery? The main cut above my belly button is healing fine (2 weeks now) but is pulled in quite a bit making a noticeable belly button like dent. Not, not painful, just looks a bit odd. Does this settle over time? Smiley

  • I have no answer to your problem, but it struck an immediate chord with me about my own upbringing, and the facetious and daft things by dad used to say and do to permanently twist my view of the world.

He convinced me for a long while that my belly button was the place my salt went when eating chips in bed.

I don't ever remember eating chips in bed, but it stuck in my mind. I passed the idea on to my granddaughters.

You could possibly say that you have room for salt and pepper.

Ok. Having done with the silliness it strikes me that this could very well form a thread on its own.

You have had major surgery to the abdomen and there must be many different ways that heals.

I haven't had surgery in that area for prostate cancer but I have had a hernia dealt with the old fashioned way - not keyhole surgery.

That left me with a pronounced ridge of scar tissue diagonally downwards across the pelvic are from just short of my left thigh.

I am an inveterate putter of things in pockets and sometimes, when retrieving items, I become momentarily convinced there is a pen in there, the car is so pronounced.

These things can happen, and a thread devoted to this, if it doesn't already exist, might answer a lot of questions.

    Changed, but not diminished.
  • Hysterical,  knew there had to be a reason for that little hole. Hard for anyone with an 'outie' though.

  • Happy to have place for pepper now too! Smiley

  •   Ooh, it sounds painful.

    As  said

You could possibly say that you have room for salt and pepper.

Chips in bed is definitely a No-No now, not that I've done that either (honest), probably a Chinese takeaway when I was younger, and probably drunk!

I remember getting sand in mine when I was young, my bellybutton that is!  Well it is a family show!

This could well have a thread devoted to this subject.  I'd definitely keep an eye on it!

As for the chubbiness of your tummy, it will eventually start going down.  Being "Mr Never Exercise " mine took a bit longer, but once the hormones finally got out of my system, that really kick started mine to start going down.

I would think it would settle down over time.  We need someone who knows for sure...
