This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic.  It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.

It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.

I could have named it 'Waffle'.  Then I couldn't go off topic.

  • Steve - Meeting on Friday turned out to be the MacMillan nurse. Latest PSA taken at my planning scan was 1.37, Testosterone at the same time 0.6 (almost not even a woman!!). After 16/20 sessions on the sunbed prostrate now is a "mush" so treatment working. Have last 4 trips on sunbed, ring bell and come back in 6 months for new bloods and see where we are. Keep on HT for another 24 months and if all is well we will deem you "cured".

Sounds like a plan to me!!Thumbsup

  • Sounds like an excellent plan to me I'm happy for you

  • Brilliant news there Brian.

Definitely sounds like a good plan to me!

  • Nah! We’ll leave them behind!!!   Slight smile

  • Sounds good!  Nearly there!  Just a thought, were you given the option of just 6 mts ht? My husband is T3a N0M0 Gleason 4+3=7. He’s been told this is a grey area! Higher grading should have 2 years, lower 6 mts. No evidence for his grade so it’s up to him. Side effects and risks versus well-being. He’s 75 so age and longevity might have something to do with it?

  • Morning WW - I am 67 and after my TURP where they had further samples of my prostate I was regraded T3a N0M0 Gleason 5 + 4 - 9. (My original diagnosis was where they thought the bugger had left the prostate), but after rechecking my scans it hasn't. My discussion with the consultant oncologist was that as cancers can return, hormone treatment for a further 2 years. PSA check and review every 6 months for the first two years and then annual thereafter.

For me it was when she said "cancers can return" I thought I can put up with the HT if it helps keep me cancer free. As a side note my RT is on both my Prostate and lymph nodes in the pelvis, just to make sure!!

I hope this helps - Kind Regards - Brian.

  • Brian,

I think that quote is so good.

For me it was when she said "cancers can return" I thought I can put up with the HT if it helps keep me cancer free.

    So proud of you.
