This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic.  It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.

It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.

I could have named it 'Waffle'.  Then I couldn't go off topic.

  • Sorry for the mix up.Flushed

pleased that you are getting some financial help.X

  • Don't worry, easily done. I checked re WaterSure, but you have to be on a means tested benefit as well so doesn't apply unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though.

  • Gina, as long as you don't have to keep pressing the button!

    As WW said:

I know of someone who has had it fitted. I think it took 3 ops before it worked successfully.

Fingers crossed Fingers crossed for everything!!  Hope Tuesday goes smoothly.

Finally got my first dental treatment today, pulled out the root from where the last dentist cocked up before COVID.

Stopped my blood thinners 2 days ago so I wouldn't bleed out.  I didn't!

Back next Friday for a filling, polish, and trying to fix the crown back in.

    Have a nice weekend.

  •   Got a letter from the council when we got back from Cyprus on Wednesday.  They are saying "it has been reported that we have chicken wire on our new fence."   We have 14 days to put retrospective planning permission in or action will be taken against us.

Apparently the council have loads of complaints about our new fence.  They've allegedly been out for a site visit and measured the fence.  We didn't need planning permission to erect it (or get it put up, if you like).  But they are now saying we need planning permission to attach wire to the bottom half of the fence.

Tracey explained that the wire netting is to protect the hedges and bushes as the lovely little darlings were just grabbing the hedges and bushes by the handful and ripping it out.

The fence is security fencing, 1.8m high in a beautiful silver colour, with lovely spikes on the top.  The council agreed that we didn't need planning permission for the fence (as they had an 8ft hedge looming over at the time).  They have now cut that to 6ft.

It's just because they don't like the style of fencing, neither do we, but it was the final straw to protect the property.

We eventually spoke to the guy from the council yesterday after 6 times ringing his direct line!!!  Annoying!!!  He told us he has a desk full of complaints about us.  Isn't that nice!   Tracey tried explaining the vendetta of hate we are experiencing!  Why is it?  We don't even talk to the neighbours, just want to be left alone in peace.

Will the council let us have sight of any of these alleged complaints?  That's a big No No!!  So how do we know there are even complaints in the first place??

When they must have been getting nowhere with the council they have been badgering the police with complaints...allegedly, of course!!

The council guy dealing with our case (from planning) is coming out to see us on Tuesday (1 April, no it's not an April fool).

I don't know if the council are obliged to let us see any complaints, you would think so wouldn't you.

Would a data protection order under the GDPR work?  We tried one a few months ago to try to find out why the council cut our bushes down.  The council agreed they had done it illegally but said a worker took it upon herself to use a chainsaw and cut our hedge down!!  They wouldn't admit responsibility though!  Did I hear "Well is a Labour Council"???

One of our lovely neighbours said he was going to canvass the neighbours to get them all to put complaints in.  Isn't that nice of him!

Just stepping down from my 'Saturday Soapbox'

    The saga continues!!!

  • Omg ,

I could be barred from this site for life as I want to use BIG swear words. Life is hard enough without this crap from your neighbour and council.

why on earth did they cut down the hedges in the first place . Was a relation of next door who works for the council ?  Have they been reprimanded ? If not why not..

In the UK, you generally have the right to access information about yourself, including complaints made against you, under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act (DPA).  So get that letter in

am sending you both big hugs

  • Hi Liz,use as many big swear words as you like.

The council worker (armed with a chainsaw) hasn't been reprimanded, she just "took it upon herself" to do it...allegedly.  The hedge was only just over 1m tall, we were trying to grow it (fat chance now) to keep the little shits out!

The complaint about this looks like it is going to the "ombudaman" whatever good that will do.  We've been through the council complaints process.

There's only so much crap you can take isn't there!

  • Does nobody have CCTV to check out who she was . I think it’s a bit odd .

we ended up having cameras installed for problem neighbours . The guy who installed them was ex job . The neighbour shouted to him is that you putting up cameras mate . No was the reply . They are evidence gatherers .

We’re still getting fag ends being thrown in to our drive , shouting abuse and very loud music played with the amplifier facing our door.

KARMA my friend . It will come back and bite your neighbours a….

    Hugs

  • Try using the process on this page:

    https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/getting-copies-of-your-information-subject-access-request/

If you read the page carefully you will see that it not only explains what to do and how to do it, but has a feature which allows you to send an email from the ICO website to request it.

You should be able to get the information you want. After all, if they were to take legal action against you they would HAVE to supply you with copies of complaints that they were basing the action on in any event.

How you get what you need.

    Steve

    Changed, but not diminished.
  • We got her on CCTV thanks to Tapo (not advertising honest).

The police went "can't tell who it is".  Even when I came up with a close up picture of her face when she took her "Texas chainsaw massacre" mask off.

How many grey haired women in their 40s or 50s use a chainsaw for the council?

The council knew straight away who she was.
