This is for anyone who can't keep on the topic.  It's hard not to stray, but if we have 'no specific topic ' we can't go off topic.

It is good just to be able to wander and talk about other things.

I could have named it 'Waffle'.  Then I couldn't go off topic.

  • Steve (

Life is full of people who are nothing but degenerates. You try and get on with life, minding your own business and they just won't take no for an answer.

Try and chill and I am back home Monday - you have my number - give me a bell and we can have a chat.

Look forward to speaking to you.

    Kind Regards - Brian.

  • I am so sorry to hear about your neighbours. And I thought mine were bad...
We have lived here, on a social housing estate, since 1990 and had lovely neighbours. Then, in 2000, our present neighbours moved in.
A couple, with 3 boys and a girl, aged between 6 months to 7 years.
From day one we were told by the kids that we were weird and that we weren't allowed to be out in our garden. We put up a 6ft wooden fence between the gardens and their youngest used to climb on it until it broke.
Every weekend from about 9pm on a Friday, through to about 3am on Monday they would have "clubbing music" blaring out at various degrees of volume but always loudest in the early hours. We complained to our landlords and they said "WE could always move".
We have put up with them cutting down plants, dumping used engine oil in our garden and even decorating a tree we had in the front garden with sanitary products (we thought that was quite funny as it was Christmas and it looked like snowball hanging on it) so they hacked the lower branches off and I cut it down.
Anyway coming up to the local elections in 2022, a candidate came to our door, and asked if we could turn our music down. I explained our situation and they apologised and went next door.
Since then, they have been a lot quieter. They must have told them their tenancy was at risk or something.

Good luck with your neighbours, it is very difficult to live with people like that.

    Regards

    Peter

  • Just a quickie before I go to bed, but what were you keeping in or out with the chicken wire?

I will report another time, about our efin Council who came in and chopped down a beautiful and 30 year old long mixed hedge which my parents carefully planted and tended. Apparently, unbeknownst to them or us since we inherited, it was on a small strip of land (1 mtr) between the neighbouring property and ours. The latter complained about the overhang so instead of pruning, Rutland County Council contractors decimated the whole hedge, including specimen conifers. I also would be banned from here if I actually reported my true feelings with no redaction of expletives.

  • Hello Gina ( and anyone else!!

On the Community we do have a "safe space" for you to rant and rave and once it's out of your system you can close the door and walk away. Here's the link:

Sometimes with cancer you need to say something but not to family and friends, just to vent and get it off your chest - here's your "safe space"

    Kind Regards - Brian.

  • Peter, And I thought we had it bad!

I bet the parents weren't much better!  I know the ones here aren't!

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • Gina, it's not chicken wire, it's wire netting to protect the hedges and bushes from the evil little shits!

As soon as we got the fencing up they were pulling them by the handful.  This stops that from happening... until...

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • I will give it a look.

As long as the men in white coats aren't there!

  • Good morning Steve, I could write a book, but can't be bothered.

  • I think many of us have had issues with ignorant and Inconsiderate neighbours. We went away on holiday and when we got back we found that the neighbours, with whom we were having a right of way issue, had built a stone wall on our property and it didn't conform to the topography. I took pleasure when they were ordered by a court to take it down and restore our property to its original condition. It was incidents like this which helped us win our civil case along with costs and would have contributed to compensation if we had asked for it. It was a very costly exercise for a stubborn neighbour in the order of 50K+ including his own costs plus a threat of being sent to prison until he paid up. Revenge is sweet but it does take a mental toll.

  • I wouldn't mind trying, I'm 1/2 way through my 20th A5 diary since I was diagnosed nearly 4 years ago.

All I need is some peace!  It's not much to ask is it!

    Macmillan keeps me sane!
