Hi all,
An advert here for anyone interested in joining the Prostate Cancer Support Group at Maggie's in Newcastle. We meet once a month (on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 12:30pm).
It's good to speak to others all with the same thing in common. All at different levels of treatment, so I find it really interesting.
It can give you a boost just when you need it.

Hi Debby, hope you and John had a good Christmas. Just a quiet one for me and Tracey.
Lots to tell you. It looks like work is getting sorted now. They're aware of what I can and can't (unable to) do.
I started a counselling course with 'Able Futures' on 'Mental Health at Work '. It's a 9 month course where they are going through how to deal with the issues at work. I'm on 'wellbeing' at the moment. See how that goes.
Also last week I started some counselling with 'Coping with Cancer'. That was good, to talk about everything... again!
All of this counselling really helps me to sort things out in my head. I know it's not for everyone.
If you would have said a couple of years ago I would be in counselling, I wouldn't have believed you.
Also, I had been referred to the 'Falls Clinic' about all of my falls in the past year. Appointment finally arrived. Last Tuesday I went. They were really thorough. I am getting a Heart ECG Monitor in a couple of weeks, then 2 weeks later, 3 MRI's together, 2 for my back and 1 for my brain. That one won't take long!
Then physio and discuss walking aids.
Who said that the NHS don't do anything? I can't thank them enough, especially if they find out what is causing these falls.
I am getting back all of my chirpiness again.
A few of us even had posts taken down for not following the topics.
So crafty old me started a thread called "No Specific Topic". It's a hit. Check it out. It's not as serious as some threads but we all need somewhere to let off steam.
I'll see John at Maggie's on the 24th if he can make it.
Take care.
Steve (SteveCam)
Hi Steve, Happy New Year !!!
You are like a breath of fresh air.
SO glad you are getting all this counselling...so glad you are brave enough to have all these MRI scans ( I would need to be put to sleep!), hope they get to the bottom of the falls.
Work - excellent if they finally realize what you have gone through / are going through.
Chipper - love this !!
John and I are good. Both had flu after Christmas and I had covid for good measure.
John won't be at the meeting I am afraid because he is in Austria praying for snow with his friend Richard as they want to ski.
Suspect he will come to February though.
He is doing good, hardly any hot flush complaints after the acupuncture. Taken up yoga which he loves ( makes me laugh!). Lots of funny pictures !! Gets a bit down from time to time but I remind him of all the positives.
Do let us know how you get on with all your stuff / work / falls clinic and I do hope Ulls is remaining positive,
Debby xx P,S Will check out 'no specific topic' !! x
Debby,
For some reason your post has been taken down. Don't know why, unless you haven't followed a topic . It's infuriating.
Anyway, glad to hear you and John have gotten over the Flu. Will this Covid ever go away?
I have had a horrible cold and cough for a few weeks. As if the linings of my lungs were red raw.
So, being the nice person I am, I shared it at work (not on purpose of course). I have been all masked up like a Mummy!
Got a letter yesterday, my Heart ECG Monitor is for 72 hours. Hope it helps, but knowing my luck nothing will show up over the 3 days.
If you get a chance, read the post from Gina about the Heart ECG Monitor (from yesterday I think). It's so good.
Are you going anywhere, with John off skiing?
Hope they put your post up.
Will see John at Maggie's in February.
Steve (SteveCam)
Hi Steve
Hope the ECG provides you with some answers but equally hope it does not if that makes sense !!?!
You certainly appear to be getting your money's worth out of the NHS, they seem strangely interested in keeping you fit and healthy !!
I am not a ski- ier and happily opting for a lonely cottage in a wood near Warcop Cumbria with my two gorgeous dogs. I think our eldest daughter intends to come to stay also. I will probably work remotely for some of the time too. Nice food, lots of vino and dog walks. Hope the weather is kind!
Am sure John will be up to see you all in February.
Keep safe and warm and let us know how you get along with the various probes and tests!
Best regards
'
Debby
Warcop, is that on the way to Penrith from Alston, through all the wonderful winding roads downhill? I'm sure that's where I have seen the Warcop sign.
If it is, it's nice and quiet. Friday the 13th has gone so it will be fine. But don't answer the door in the middle of the night!
They do seem strangely interested in me. I'm not going to complain though.
Bye for now.

Hi all, It's that time of the Month again! (No, not THAT time of the month). Maggie's in Newcastle is having it's monthly "Prostate Cancer Support Group" on Tuesday 28th February 2023 at 12:30pm.
Hope to see any new and current members there. If you are new, please ring Maggie's on 0191 2336600 to let them know you are coming.

Steve (SteveCam)
Hi Steve
Hope you are good and have stopped falling over!
John is currently in Switzerland skiing with our youngest daughter Impogen ( I am beginning to feel he doesn't like me!).
I will bring this to his attention as he has been suffering more with flushes and fears the acupuncture has worn off and would ask does anyone else feel this way?
Appreciate you are always active on the forum as is Ulls. X
