Hubby just got results of PSMA CT PET scan and it shows prostate cancer in the ureters. No signs of anywhere else. It is in both ureters,, right is worse. Note I dont mean urether. I read online spread to ureters is very rare 45 cases in the world to date. I cant find any information online regarding treatment or prognosis. Hubby had RP Feb 18 and SBRT to iliac lymph node in May 19. Current Psa on the up went from 0.7 to 1.82 in the last three months. He is not on hormone therapy or any treatment at all right now. He is 62. See Onc on Monday. Has anyone experience of this?
Almondnut, sorry to read about this.
I haven’t any experience of this bit a quick look at articles on ureter spread shows it is extremely rare and often associated with high Gleason score.
I would think the least the oncologist will do is put him on hormone therapy and discuss other additional options.
I hope others come along and answer too.

This is, as yiu say extremely rare.
I have no idea what the treatment options are.
I really don't know if they would consider removing the ureters or not. Something might have to be done to keep the kidneys draining if that becomes an issue.
I hope you get more info soon, let us know.
Thanks for your reply. I spoke to Prostate Cancer Charity but they couldn't shed any light as they said so rare. Will let you know what the onc says on Monday.
