Hi atty     This has been a post before but I’ll reply so you don’t have to trawl through.     I would wait until after TWOC and see how you go.    Dont go mad and buy loads of different pads etc ( from experience I’m saying this ) as I was really fortunate that I was continent immediately after and never need more than a couple of shields that I wore as a precaution.  If you need any advice about surgery I’m happy to help.   I am post op 14 months and doing well.     Any question no matter how  trivial it might sound I’ll be glad to give my view.    Good luck.    Simon

I contributed to the other thread so my advice is on there.

I think it is important to have some pads ready for decatheterisation in case your hospital sends you away with just one pad and refuses a spare which I had not planned for.

I was leaking badly and the supermarket was just that bit too far but luckily had a mens toilet I could use to change and replace the pad.

It took some months to become continent for a number of reasons.

My surgery was a failure so I had to have early salvage RT but remain continent so far which is a relief as that is a risk with RT too.
