Hi, I'm now four weeks post Radiotherapy and over the last couple of weeks have been having sporadic blood and clots in my urine.
Medical staff have assured me this is resonably normal and that my bladder has effectively been fried and that I should only worry if the clots stop my flow.
Nontheless, it's quite disturbing and neccesitates Tenamen pads for leakage.......
It is normal to have some bleeding after radiation. I believe this may actually persist some time.
If you're having pain with this, especially when peeing, I'd suggest seeing your GP for a urine test for a possible infection.
If it persists and you start getting out of breath more easily and tired, then you may have become anaemic and will require some investigations. A blood test for anaemia and possibly a cystoscopy.
