This is my first post. Hope you can help. Dec 2017 Husbands psa found to be1200. Had MRI scan and CTscan started on hormone injection. Found that cancer had spread to bones base of the spine  not lymph  nodes Gleason score 4 + 5  5 bouts of radiation came out of hospital.Put on STAMPEDE trial  then in March 2018 started 6 cycles of docataxel  April 2018r  psa 251 July 2018 psa 115 Oct 2018 psa 400 Repeat MRI put on to aberitarone Dec 2018. Psa  then fell steadily April 2019 Psa lowest it's ever been 71. June 2019 complained of right shoulder pain Dr said he has pocket of cancer there and offered radiotherapy. Psa up to 101. This was a shock to us as we believed metastases were base of the spine. Any advice feel as though we've gone backwards.

  • Hi  and welcome to the online community although I'm sorry you've had to find us.

I don't have any personal experience with prostate cancer but I noticed that your post had gone unanswered. By replying to you it will 'bump' it back to the top of he page where it will hopefully be seen by someone with the right experience to reply.

If you don't get any responses then you could post your question in ask a nurse and one of the specialist cancer nurses will aim to respond within 2 working days.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your husband's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
