So, 20th radiotherapy session done and dusted. Have to say, my husband has been lucky and escaped any serious issues with the radiotherapy. The hardest part was the travelling on the bus x 4 every day. Especially through the hot weather and unreliable buses.
his only side effect was getting up 4 or 5 times a night for the toilet, but that only started happening in the last week. Hopefully that will start to improve now treatment has finished.
now we just have to wait six months to have his bloods done, by then we are hoping for a good number.
most appointments have been on time or roundabout the time given, a couple of hiccups, nothing major till today ironically. One machine broke and delays of up to 2 hours, but all taken by everybody in a patient and understanding way. Helped by pleasant and informative staff.
so. Thats it for us. Nothing else to report for six months. We hope that everybody sails through this experience as easily (fingers crossed) as my husband, but i do realise some people may not be this lucky.
all the best to everyone
Hello Cheryl (Cabb )
I am so pleased it's all done and he's tolerated it well The staff at The Christie in Oldham are brilliant.
I am sure the night toilet visits will reduce and here's to a low PSA reading at your next bloods.
Kind regards - Brian.
