Hello Everyone
We had an Oncologist review today 6 months from end of chemo.and after recent CT,MRI ,Bone scan.
At 3months psa was 0.5 from 4432 .Today 0.26.
"All areas have had an excellent response. Prostate is normal size. No areas requiring irradiation. Mets (bone only no lymph originally) either resolved or more than partially resolved . No new lesions anywhere. "
As my LH feels very well, only occasional hot flush, the plan is to continue Prostap & Riveroxaban (prev dvt after chemo) scans and review in 6months or sooner if needed.
We are feeling very fortunate & thrilled with the result and are looking forward to relaxing once my recent eye stent issue is sorted.
Thank you to everyone who has shared experiences and offered encouragement and support. We have appreciated it all so very much since our journey began 18months ago.
Wishing everyone the relief and joy we feel tonight.
Update from rreview yesterday. Nothing new on bone scan,CT,MRI no visceral/lymph .But..psa up to 1.3 from 0.26 in Jan. Husband on Prostap. Oncologist plan is rpt scans in 3months rather than 6 "dont want to miss anything waiting 6 months" Im panicking, I know I overthink but am frightened this is start of resistance. As my husband has big emotional dip after each Prostap, consultant has changed it to 6/12 to reduce these.
My lovely husband is feeling v well,is busy in garden,v acrive diy etc. I would appreciate some reflections/comments to still my brain. I feel like I did at diagnosis. Thank you to everyone
Hello Suekee
Thank you for the update on your LH. I am sorry to read his PSA is up from 0.26 to 1,3 and whilst not being a big rise I understand your concern. (considering his original PSA it's nothing!).
As you say, he's fit and well in himself and his consultant is taking the rise into consideration by repeating the scans in 3 months - at the moment nothing is showing.
My advice would be to enjoy the next 3 months, try not to worry. Yes in 3 months time there will be another PSA test and scans. The current rise could be a "blip" BUT if there is another rise then the chances are that the location of the PSA source will show up on the next scan and can then be sorted with a blast of Radiotherapy.
The positives are he's fit and well and his team are on his case - enjoy the rest of the summer - it's great being a "real summer".
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi Suekee , nothing I say is going to stop you worrying, but really it is pointless. None of us know how our journey will end, so take Brian’s advice, enjoy the summer, make memories and don’t worry about the unknown. My next bloods are in August and subconsciously I am already worried, but I know I can’t do anything more until I get those results.
Best wishes, David
