Just rang the bell for my last (6th) chemotherapy session.
Psa dropped from originally 256 down to 0.32. Having another scan in due course and another appointment in 3 weeks to see oncologist on what will happen next i.e. any trials or just the usual blood monitoring..
From the cancer trials web page, there are trials for RT so hopefully this will be offered. I will be asking either way.

  • Hello

Thank you for a very positive post with great news regarding your PSA results.

Your journey notes on your profile are there for all to see and i hope will help others considering Triplet Therapy if offered.

I wish you well going forward, do keep us in the loop.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Thanks Brian

Its been a roller coaster of a ride but the triplet therapy does work. Im sure the psa will continue to drop for a period unti it reaches its nadir which im hoping will reach 0.00.

Thank you for your previous posts which is why this forum is good to reach out and help everyone at different stages

I will keep you all updated as and when

  • Hi Tattibogoes, my partner was diagnosed with T3 N1M1 (feb 25) and had chemo as part of triplets therapy finished In September 25 then a scan 3 weeks after the chemo and a consultation followed up  with a referral for radiotherapy. He had 20 sessions done over 4 weeks in November 25. Then another CT scan in March 26. He is currently monitored every 2 months with a blood test and a review with his nurse consultant. He has put on weight in the past couple of months and has some aches and pains which we think it's caused by the continuous treatment  currently on Darolutamide 2 a day and HT injections every 3 months.  Good luck with your future treatment and what an excellent response you have had!

  • Hello

I have had 3.75 years of Hormone Therapy and put on 3.5 stone. My consultant recognised the weight gain was the HT and a prescription for Ozempic (The weight loss jab) followed.

I hope this helps, as your partner looks to be doing great on his treatment.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi Zee

Thanks for your reply. How is your partner doing so far, has his psa level stayed low?

I would hope that I too have the RT. Will have to wait and see from the scan I suppose.

It sounds promising and we'll done to your partner

  • Hi Tattibogoes

Congratulations on finishing the course!!! I had my sixth on 22 May, and am on triplet therapy pathway.

Luckily I was away in Scotland for the first heatwave after my three week period - so managed to avoid that!!

I am on a taper down programme to stop the Prednisolone now - and have my last one this week.  I have found that coming off the steroids, finishing chemo and the heat quite a struggle- and my fatigue levels seem to have increased- not walking so much nor going to gym - but I am hopeful of getting back to something like normal soon.

I have next appointment with Consultant Oncologist in mid August ( he gave me a couple of months off ) to discuss RT - he seems quite keen and I am up for it as well…

All the best and good luck with the next phase

( no bell ringing at my treatment centre and would have felt v uncomfortable doing it if available as on treatment but not cure)

  • Congrats on finishing your chemotherapy..

How have ypu found the treatment so far? What is your psa level so far...?

I too didnt feel like I should ring the bell, but the nurses was all for it, maybe its an accomplishment in there eyes as well that they have helped someone complete a course of a treatment that can be hard on your body..

    Kind regards
