Hello everyone , just wanted to give a quick update on my husband’s progress so far.
Eight weeks on from starting Prostap, and three weeks on from adding Abiraterone, his PSA level has fallen from 27 at diagnosis in February to 1 today.
He also had a PSMA pet scan last Friday in Oxford, so we are waiting on the results. He’s was very pleased his oncologist suggested it even though his bone and CT scans were clear, we’re hoping it remains that way. So far he’s not had any significant side effects for the treatment, aside from ED, his testosterone dropped to 0.6 within three weeks, so pretty much expected and something we can cope with. It’s difficult and life has changed somewhat, but we’re doing ok for now.
A Good start we hope.
Hello Porthleven
Thank you for your post - a very encouraging post and an NHS Trust (well an oncology department) who look to have some get up and go!!
You can see why we call it a journey now - but at least things look to have settled down to the "New Normal" and that PSA result is brilliant.
Best wishes going forward - Brian.
