I am having loads of hot flushes, particularly in the evening and overnight, due to ongoing quarterly Decapeptyl injections. Made worse with the current heatwave and badly disrupting sleep.
Does anybody have any experience of "cold pillows" that one can buy, and recommend any particular products. I have a Dyson fan blasting away, minimal bedclothes etc, but any other tips for getting a night's sleep would be gratefully received.
Thank you.
Hello Parkrunner
I can't give you an answer about "cold pillows" but by me replying your post will go back to the top of the page.
I have been on Decapeptyl for almost 4 years. After a few months I started with the hot flushes - some were bad and we had to change the bed sheets a couple of times.
I started on sage tablets and within 2 weeks the hot flushes stopped and I have not had one since. I am on Menoforce - they are a tad expensive and they don't work for everyone - but they work for me!!
I hope you find an answer to the problem.
Best wishes - Brian.

Thanks very much for the information. I'm seeing my Oncologist on Tuesday for my three months review after radiotherapy. I'll discuss with him and ask him specifically about Menoforce. Thanks again,
Phil.
I can't speak to cold pillows, not having tried them, but will tell you that a ceiling fan does the job for me.
It is quieter that a standard fan, and seems to move the air for slowly but, for me, the constant low level air flow seems to work quite well.
Steve
Changed, but not diminished.
Hello Phil (Parkrunner )
You could mention "Medroxyprogesterone" to your oncologist. This is a prescription medication known to reduce hot flushes.
Best wishes - Brian.
