Hello all,
I finished Radiotherapy 3 weeks ago, all went really well... I had my first PSA test since early December (0.11) on Friday and the result appeared on my app earlier today at <0.025... I'm very surprised but happy it's that low so soon after Radiotherapy but I suppose the Prostap must have continued doing it's thing even though it looked like my PSA was plateauing (last 2 tests: 0.125, 0.11), because I thought the Radiotherapy takes time to lower the PSA...
I assume the result of <0.025 is the lowest my specific Laboratory can test to hence the "<" ?... So fingers crossed my ongoing tests come back the same... Will they most likely be 3 monthly?...
Next is a Consultation Meeting mid April, should be pretty positive I hope, and I'm hoping to try and fit a sunny family break in somewhere (works gone manic! And kids are in Uni and 6th Form, so it's gonna be a squeeze) before the next test result....
Not gonna lie, waiting for this particular PSA result to show up on the app after nearly 4 months since my last test got the old ticker racing a bit (I got too used to the 3 weekly schedule during Chemo, haha)...
All the best to all
Jay
Hello Jay (Eikcorb )
Well that's some journey over 12 months but everything's worked out well in the end. As you say, the Hormone Therapy keeps working but that's a great PSA result.
I wish you well moving forward, get the holiday sorted and enjoy some warmth and sunshine.
It's up to your team if they do 3 or 6 monthly PSA tests - I am on 3 monthly ones but have give up worrying about them as you can't change the result (but that's just me).
Best wishes - Brian.

Great result.
Somewhere in there those cancer cells are getting a good kicking.
As Brian says, your team will decide how often you need to be checked.
This seems to be guided by some calculations that include an element of Voodoo.
Keep going my friend, you are an example to us all.

Changed, but not diminished.
Hi Eikcorb - this is great news - especially the < sign. Effective combo of HT and radiotherapy does the job yet again. AW
